The Exotic, Mystic And Mystery

Second Sight

The Rāmāyana had an important influence on later Sanskrit poetry, primarily through its establishment of the Sloka meter. But, like its epic cousin Mahabharata, the Rāmāyana is not just an ordinary story. It contains the teachings of ancient Hindu sages and presents them through allegory in narrative and the interspersion of the philosophical and the devotional. The characters of Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, Bharata, Hanuman and Rāvana (the villain of the piece) are all fundamental to the cultural consciousness of India.

The teachings of the Hindu religion or Hindu Dharma is to reach peace and harmony in life guided by the Wedas as Holy Scriptures. Hindu Dharma is a special blend of Hinduism, Buddhism and ancestor worship that has been flourishing over the centuries.

The believe in the Trimurti consists of:

Brahma, the creator
Wisnu or Vishnu, the preserver
Ciwa or Shiva, the destroyer

The search for a spiritual insight is here again. After much planning and delay, I've decided to sit back and relax and enjoy the breeze in motion. It must be music again which brings me to my next destination.

A mile after another I've walked in the streets. Temples of everlasting light I have seen. From the ancient Wat Po to the sacred four-faced Buddha, they never fail to thrill me. The journey continues to another part of Asia where Hinduism takes over.

Bring on George Harrison, Ravi Shankar, Lata Mangeshkar or even Kula Shaker and they will tell you how Hinduism fascinates them and their faith in the religion. The epic Ramayana and Hanoman, they'll tell you a story.

India it will not be this time. I'm not finished with the Golden Avatar as yet. Let the spirit of the Gods sip inside of you! Hare Krshna!
